Most actors hit a certain point in their careers when the think, this might be my last chance to make some money. So they start accepting every single roll that comes along no matter how bad the script, see Wickerman if you think Ghost Rider was bad. I suspect that Nick (Cage) has some of this fear lingering. He has not been the same since Lisa Marie left him for the little guy that was in Austin Powers.
